His two-on-one encounter vs. Mark Kenas and Charles Reinke was especially fruitful for him, as he played a total of eight bingos across two games, both of which were wins (as his final record would imply). He defeated Mark 488-426, getting STATICE, MARAUDED, DISTANT, and EVIRATES#, while Charles was even more thoroughly victimized by Thomas' fury, that game ending 553-387 in Thomas' favor. Thomas' four bonus plays in that one were INSULTS, EXURBAN, GOATIER, and a fancy nine-letter TRIENNIUM. Not content until every Scrabble player in the room was made to suffer his wrath, Thomas reserved another 500-point game for Helen Flores, whom he beat 514-262, this time with "just" two bingos, HANTLES and REFUGES.

2nd Mark Kenas achieved a rare winning record against a relentless onslaught of Reinke brother bingos, going 2-1 +106. Both of Mark's wins came against Charles Reinke in convincing fashion. The first was a 459-384 affair, propelled by Mark's bingos of RIDGILS, PRAISER, and NEEDLIER#. Mark's superior Collins knowledge came to the fore in the rematch as he confidently slapped down three bingos only good in the international lexicon: TOASTIE#, WOUNDILY#, and RERAILED#. Charles had JETLAGS for 91 points but fell well short, 380-473.
