On the other side of the victory spectrum, Charles narrowly escaped with the win against Sara McLaughlin, the final score of their game being 432-420. Sara matched Charles bingo-for-bingo as she played WILDEST and POETISED against Charles' PEDALOS and CHEERLED. A 372-391 loss to Thomas Reinke proved to be Charles' only loss of the evening, despite Charles' 103-point EXPIRES.

2nd Thomas Reinke went 3-1 with a comparatively minuscule point spread of +74. He started things off with a closely-contested 403-384 bout against Helen Flores. Helen struck first with DIVESTS, but Thomas eventually got ANODIZE to propel him to victory. Thomas' best game was against Peter Shmiedicke, a 448-335 win featuring bingos of MONOGRAM, ADENINES, and DHOOLIES.
