1st Richard Lauder recorded a 4-1 +230 night to begin the 1st week of Club 247’s 27th year with an 80% winning percentage. Richard won his last game 310-278 against Thomas Reinke, a low scoring game in which Thomas had the only bingo, SUZERAIN, which was the word of the week.
2nd Charles Reinke closed with a 504-307 game with Lynda Finn on his way to a 3-1 +452. Ironically, Lynda currently has the highest per game average in this new year, at 434 per outing.
3rd Leslie Seltzer rolled to a healthy 413 average as she captured 3rd with a 3-1 +284 tally.
SHARLIE MIURA LEADS INTERMEDIATES
1st Sharlie Miura finished the first night of year 27 with a 2-1 +12 total. Her big game was a 351-345 opening win against Betty Hasselkus.
2nd Sue Goldstein took second with a 1-1 -9 finish, despite having to leave early after suffering from an eye injury. Who knew how dangerous scrabble can be?
3rd Betty Hasselkus captured 3rd at 1-3 -40, winning against expert Shayla Dunn 367-318 in her second game.
